Argala or Planetary intervention

Argala or Planetary intervention:
The word argala means Intervention. So in vedic astrology argala means planetary intervention. Planets give subhargala (benefic intervention), virodhargala & papargala (negative intervention).

Argala is a sanskrit word which means obstruction.If a planet is placed in 4th,2nd,11th house from any planet or house,it gives birth to argala combination.These 4th,2nd,11th houses serve as argala houses for that planet or house from which they have these positions.

For eg.suppose Jupiter is placed in 4th house,then the planets placed in 4th,2nd and 11th house from Jupiter and 4th house  will form argala combination for Jupiter and they will enhance effects of Jupiter and this will be argala of Jupiter.But this argala combination will also get obstructed and stand cancelled if from that planet or house forming argala in the 3rd,10th and 12th respectively there is some planet. Thus argala is formed if Jupiter is placed in the 4th house and there is some planet placed in the 4th house from Jupiter.But if there is some planet in the 10th house from Jupiter it will be regarded as broken.

⇒Argala is formed also if there is a planet in 2nd house from Jupiter but will get cancelled if there is any planet in 12th house from Jupiter.
 ⇒Similarly it will get formed if there is any planet in 11th house from Jupiter but if there is any planet in 3rd house argala forming planet in 11th house will get cancelled.

🌏Argala from the 2nd house shows the basic ingredient for the sustenance of a matter. For example, the 2nd house shows food and it is a basic ingredient for the sustenance of self (1st). The 5th house shows intelligence and it is a basic ingredient for the sustenance of learning (4th).

🌏Argala from the 4th house shows the basic factor that drives the mood, state and progress of a matter. For example, the 4th house shows comfort and it drives the mood and state of self (1st). The 7th house shows interaction and that drives one’s learning (4th).

🌏Argala from the 11th house shows the catalyst that can result in gains for a matter. For example, the 2nd house shows character, grooming and samskara and it is a catalyst in the process of learning (4th).

⛰If there are 3 or more planet in the 3rd house from any planet or house,then vipreet argala is formed.This argala also confers effects like argala.It has no obstructing house.

⛰Rahu and Ketu always moving in retrograde motion so argala houses and obstructing houses will be in reverse order i.e counting done in reverse from Rahu and Ketu.

Note:Obstructing to argala will be caused in two conditions:-

1.First condition,when argala causing planet is between 0degree - 7degree30minutes in any sign and obstructing planet is between 22 degree 30 minutes-30 degrees.

2.Second condition is taken when argala causing planet is between 7degree 30minutes-15 degrees and the obstructing planet is between 15degrees- 22degrees 30minutes.

Argala can be caused by a benefic or malefic planet.If a benefic argala is obstructed by another,then the benefic effect will not manifest in the argala and the malefic effect may operate freely. Argala can be caused by a malefic with reference to a benefic,so the native does not enjoy good effects due to benefic.This is malefic argala and also the reverse order is known as benefic argala.

Argala can also be in operation with reference to houses as well.
