⛰Dasha of AtmaKaraka⛰
What is Atmakaraka in Vedic Astrology?
• The concept of rebirth of the Soul in a human body enveloped with desires, occurs based on his accumulated Karma over the previous lives called “Sanchita Karma” on the “as you sow, so you reap” principle.Atma means the soul and karaka means significator. Atmakaraka is the significator of the soul’s desire. According to the Vedic philosophy a soul is reborn because it has unfinished desires that were left unfulfilled in the previous lives and it is born again to get another opportunity to satisfy them. What are these desires? Will they be fulfilled or will you struggle with them? This revealed by the Atmakaraka planet. As per view the Atmakaraka is one of the most important planets in the natal chart.
🌏The natural Atmakaraka is the Sun in all charts. The personal Atmakaraka is the Chara Atmakaraka which is considered more important than the natural Atmakaraka (Sun) according to Jaimini's Astrology. Chara in Sanskrit means 'movable', and one of eight planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu) can be the Chara Atmakaraka, depending on its minutes and seconds (00'00" to 59'59") in the natal chart.
Atma Karaka Dasha
✅Whatever be the Atmakaraka when afflicted by placement or conjunction, there will be a perceived suffering due to obstacles especially during the dasha of the graha. When we experience suffering, we tend to redeem ourselves by seeking better company, higher knowledge, chanting of mantras, yoga and meditation and serving others. That Atmakaraka's dasha would not be good - there would be suffering to purify the soul. Atmakaraka teaches us through painful experiences because it is supposed to clean our souls- difficult on mundane level but beneficial on spiritual and in terms of growth. A Malefic Atmakaraka invariably indicates suffering during its Vimshottari dasa.
➡ If the native is spiritually inclined then the dasa of the Atmakaraka can be beneficial. A retrograde Atmakaraka indicates a deep-rooted desire as being the cause of the birth. Combustion of Atmakaraka gives spiritual insight..
✅It is said that the solution to any problem often lies on the opposite side of it. Look at the graha opposite to the Atmakaraka graha on the dig chakra.
