What are the benefits of vargottama lagna in d1 and d9 chart?

A rasi is divided into 9 padas, each is called a navamsa. Each nakshatra has 4 padas. Thus a rasi-sign has 2 1/4 nakshatras in them.

If the lord of the D9 Lagna is exalted or in own house will add strength to the chart. If the D9 lagna is vargottama it promises long life.Moreover,the Kendra lords in Navamsa must be strong in the Rashi chart. Strong Navamsa lagna lord in Rashi (D1) chart promises good health, if 10th lord of Navamsa is strong in Rashi it promises great wealth, If 4th lord in Navamsa is strong in Rasi it is great for spirituality, If 7th lord in Navamsa is strong in Rashi chart it’s good for joy and happiness in life.

Vargottama is derived from 2 words. “Varga” means division “Uttama” means best. So vargottama means best division.

The ascendant sign of the D1 is also considered to be equivalent to a planetary force. It also can be vargottam.Eg. Suppose you have Libra ascendant in your D1. Now open your D9. If you have Libra again placed in the 1st house of the D9, this is called a ’vargottam lagna’ in the D9.

Vargotamma is linked to the modalities- cardinal, fixed and mutable. The planets are vargottama in the 1st navamsha of cardinal signs, the 5th navamsha of the fixed signs and the 9th navamsha of the mutable signs. The vargottama planets are in tune with their energy, good or bad. They learn to cope with it and come out victorious. They feel at one with their soul’s purpose.Effects of the Vargottama Lagna planet in dasha period will be strong (vargottama planet dasha). Vargottama graha has a similar effect upon both the native and one's partner. Two vargottama planet and more planets always good for individual.

A planet or the ascendant being in Vargottama obtains much potence to be favourable. Although in the initial stages it is taught that Vargottama is the best, we can conceive practical variations in the following manner.

1. Vargottama in exaltation
2. Vargottama in Moola Trikona
3. Vargottama in own sign
4. Vargottama in friendly sign
5. Vargottama in an inimical sign
6. Vargottama in debilitation sign

In this classification, the beneficence gradually descends in value, only to attain maximum mischievous potence with Vargottama in debilitation.

What conditions make Vargottam Lagna Stronger:

Every time vargottam planet does not give strong results, it depends on many conditions, you need carefully examine those conditions on planet and then make conclusion for the same:

  • Vargottam Lord if placed in Kendra/Trikona in both charts consider strong.
  • Vargottam Lagna Lord placed in good nakshatra and its nakshatra lord in good position/house in horoscope.
  • It should not be debilitated or badly placed in bad houses.
  • Planet Mahadasha in middle age.
  • Vargottam Ascendant lord should be strong.
  • Vargottam house/ planet should have good points in Ashtakwarg.

Generally when lagna is Vargottam , you become the somewhat same. You are same as inside and outside. Vargottama is explained thus – a planet or a specially calculated degree getting the same Navamsa position as it gets in Rasi. For example the Moon in the sign Gemini with Gemini Navamsa or the meridian in the sign Pisces with Pisces Navamsa.This intensely strengths the individual personality, character and personal strength of the person. This type of Lagna will indirectly help the person become really famous if he has additional yogas that support fame.
